Every child is an artist. The problem is
how to remain an artist when we grow up - Pablo PicassoMy name is Yvonne MORAN I live in North County Dublin, Ireland.
I started painting with watercolour and later my teacher James Donnelly, encouraged me to try oils which proved to be my most successful medium. I started to exhibit and had some success. I now have my own studio, but still paint in a class currently with Juan Perez, and I paint also with a wonderful water colourist Anne Harnett with whom I exhibit regularly.
I travel quite often to Malaysia with my husband and found a painting class in Malaysia with the renowned artist Amir Ariffen and this year I hope to travel more locally and paint ‘Plein Air’ in the sun.
I paint from photographs mostly, I carry a camera with me all the time and I find the iPhone a great gadget for the quick picture. I have wonderful scenery to choose from here by the sea where I live in Dublin, a different scene every day. Trying to get the right light can be a problem some times, then the sun will come out and I have a whole new scene to photograph and later paint.
I hope to continue expanding my repertoire, painting the lovely views around me and things that people will like enough to buy for their houses and for gifts.
I exhibit regularly with Malahide Artworks on the Tennis Club railings in Malahide during the summer and am also a member of Portmarnock Art Club who also exhibit throughout the year.
My paintings are hanging in many parts of the world today. Ireland, England, Portugal, Florida, Toronto, Kuala Lumpur, and also the Irish Embassy in Poland.
